Giving Our Past A Future

For over three decades The Mauch Chunk Historical Society has been in an ongoing effort to restore and maintain the Historic Mauch Chunk Opera House and the adjoining Marion Hose Company building in Jim Thorpe PA. By the dedication of a board of volunteers these iconic structures in the historic district now thrive as cultural and entertainment venues enriching our local and regional communities.

The Mauch Chunk Historical Society looks forward to the future as we broaden our relationships with like organizations in a continuing effort to expand the potential of Jim Thorpe as a resource for historic study and appreciation.
